How it works
Automated Gate
Access

Automated entry and exit with ANPR technology
Our ANPR system connects seamlessly with booking platforms like RMS and NewBook. Guests' vehicle plates are recognized automatically, giving them instant access.

A smooth guest experience
As a guest drives up to the park entry or boom gate, the system detects their number plate and cross-checks with the booking, The gate opens for an easy, seamless experience.

Automated exit process
When it’s time to leave, the system identifies the car and opens the gate automatically, ensuring a quick and easy exit.

Customizable to your needs
Whether it’s updating guest information or managing access, the system is fully adaptable to your park’s unique needs, allowing for seamless operations and efficient control.

It stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition.
Our system was designed with redundancy in mind, which is why the SmartParks Access system includes PIN pads. In the event a number plate cannot be read, or a guest does not wish to provide one, they will still be provided with a PIN code to use.
Our system implements anti-passback rules regardless of whether PIN codes or number plates are used. If a guest entered using their number plate and then tries to use a PIN code at the gate to admit a second vehicle, access will be denied until the allocated vehicle has been detected leaving the property. The same rule applies if the PIN code was used first.
Absolutely. Simply add as many vehicles or PIN codes to the reservation in your chosen booking engine, and the system will automatically grant them access to your property for the duration of their reservation.
Yes! We’re compatible with all boom gates and automated gates on the Australian market that have a relay contact input.
Absolutely. We encourage your existing boom gate provider to be involved in this process, ensuring they can continue to support and cover the warranty on your boom gates. Alternatively, we’re happy to deal directly with them at a technical level to handle the implementation. Please note this may incur separate fees from your boom gate supplier.
If you already have the required cabling and existing boom gates in place, the system can typically be deployed within about 48 hours.
Alternatively, if you need to install on-site hardware—such as cameras, cabling, or boom gates—you’ll need to schedule this work first. Once installation is complete, we can connect the software to your booking engine. Depending on labour and hardware availability, this process may take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
We don’t offer installation services at SmartParks, but we can manage the entire process for you—from start to finish. This includes arranging a preferred local security or boom gate installer to deploy the full SmartParks Access solution according to our specifications. They can also serve as a local point of contact and provide ongoing support for your system.
Yes, it does. In order to effectively and reliably communicate with the booking engines we integrate with, our solution requires an internet connection. We offer various options, including using your existing on-site connection. Alternatively, we have other solutions you can enquire about, which can be added for an additional cost.
